Benefits Of ThermaCote® Ceramic Coating:

Since 1985, ThermaCote®, Inc. has manufactured what in its simplest definition is an “energy saving paint”. ThermaCote® is a high performance Thermal Barrier/ Weather Barrier which incorporates ceramic technology to produce a fluid applied material which only weighs 5 lbs/gallon, and is typically applied at 15 mils per coat. When dry ThermaCote® looks just like flat latex paint, and conserves energy! ThermaCote® is great for use as: Attic Heat Barrier, Commercial Building Insulation, Metal Roof Insulation, Insulating Roof Coating, Pipe Heat Insulation, Steel Building Insulation, Thermal Insulating Coating, Corrosion Protection and Control, Condensation Control, Heat Retention, and many more applications! - The versatility of ThermaCote® makes the possibilities endless.

  • Energy Star Qualified/Rated product as well ThermaCote®, Inc. is an Energy Star Partner. Whether looking for a reflective roof/wall coating or an appliance, always look for the Energy Star Partner label when purchasing products to save energy and our environment.
  • Cool Roofs Rating Council (CRRC) Qualified product
  • ZERO VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) in a water based latex acrylic formulation that is friendly to environments inside and out.
  • Certified Green by Mas Green Standard
  • UL Classified at 0 (zero) Flame Spread and a 5 for Smoke Development
  • ThermaCote®’s unique properties include premier characteristics as a:

    • Vapor barrier
    • Water sealant
    • Air sealant
    • Thermal barrier
    • Thermal Blocker

    ThermaCote® eliminates or reduces:

    • Thermal Bridging - Thermal Transfer
    • Thermal Conduction
    • Thermal Convection
    • Thermal Radiation
    • Condensation
Return on Investment (ROI) — ThermaCote® properly applied provides a rapid ROI in energy savings. After that it’s your money in the bank.
  • Vapor Barrier that breathes
  • Reduces Condensation
  • Low Shrinkage due to high volume of solids. 12 wmt = 10dmt
  • High Solor Reflectance
  • High Emmitance
  • Wide Range of Application: 50f- 300f
  • Reduces Expansion and Contraction
  • Lightweight: At 5 pounds per gallon (<2.27 kilos per 3.78 liters) ThermaCote® is the original lightweight coating(we pioneered them in the mid 1980’s) and will only add aprox 6-12 lbs. a square when properly applied to a roof or any other structure that weight gain from protective coatings might become an issue. (note: my father made concrete so light it would float on water yet still had structure)
  • Self-Priming: The product contains built in rust/corrosion inhibitors which make it self-priming unless dealing with harsh or large areas of rust. The lack of Chlorides allows ThermaCote® to apply directly to stainless with no pitting. Use ThermaCote® as the primer on new or old sheetrock for a room to room radiant barrier. Primes new or fresh blasted steel while at the same time adding radiant properties against transmission of hot or cold. Make ThermaCote® the first coat on new exterior concrete and block walls for a never peel finish that provides paintable protection against U/V and moisture penetration. Sticks to plastic, glass, wood, all metals, concrete and masonry surfaces, fiberglass, Styrofoam and foam products, paper products and almost any surface there is!
  • Low Dry Fall Rate: 5-10 feet (depending on temp and humidity) ThermaCote® will not travel far wet, reducing overspray and landing on subsequent substrates as dust to be swept up.
  • Max White Brightness: Actually hard to look at without sunglasses in direct light.
  • Experience from a trusted manufacturer with close to 25 years in the business.
  • Tested & Trusted
Our manufacturing facility which is in Lawrenceville, GA, received its Certificate of Occupancy (C.O.) from the Gwinnett County Fire Marshall February 28th, 2006. Gwinnett County is one of the most stringent counties in Georgia regarding building and fire codes. The importance of this C.O. is that because of ThermaCote’s® UL 0 flame spread listing we were not required to install a sprinkler system. As I have been told, our building is either the only or one of the few buildings of our size in Gwinnett County allowed to not have a sprinkler system, or any type of traditional insulation. Taking into consideration that we are a manufacturing plant makes this in my opinion quite significant. So in addition to the energy savings ThermaCote provides, it also gives an added measure of safety in schools, hotels, hospitals, airports, manufactured homes, factories, etc…
